Our smallest tri-band radio transceiver yet!
HamShield Mini is half the size of HamShield, making it great for high altitude balloon projects, cubesats, drone based repeaters, embedded designs and more. Just like HamShield, HamShield Mini works across three amateur radio bands: 144, 220, and 440. The radio's extended range makes it equally impressive, with wideband reception and transmission.
It is also 3.3V and 5V friendly, making it easy to power directly from your compute board (Arduino ARM, etc). Raspberry Pi is now supported, too!
Voice and packet radio data are supported in our library, along with CTCSS decoding/encoding, tone (DTMF or custom) decoding/encoding, and Morse code encoding/decoding support.
HamShield Mini does not require special power supplies. It can be powered on either 3.3V or 5V, and ample current is available on most computing boards and arduinos.
This is the HamShield Mini only. No power connector or antenna is provided. This uses a standard SMA antenna, which some of our users may already have. Since this is an amateur radio kit, soldering of the SMA antenna and headers are required (but we promise it's easy!).

Skills Required
This kit requires soldering of header and SMA components. You will also need an amateur radio license. You will need an antenna. You will need Arduino or other system development skills in order to operate this radio. There are many example sketches from our library that we have provided.
